About me and about this blog.
For starters, my name is Jess and I'm sarcastic. Hence, "Jess Kidding"--a play on a phrase I have to say a lot.
Second, I’m not exaggerating at all when I tell you that my To-Be-Read pile is bigger than your To-Be-Read pile. In fact, I’m probably underestimating. My pile is currently 503 books, and is less of a pile and more two bookshelves full, plus whatever is on my Kindle. They’re all amazing books that I have been dying to read, so I have no intention of shirking my duty to the Great Stack (trademark pending). So in order to build accountability and share my awesomeness with the world, I’ve started this blog.
Generally the books in the Great Stack are Young Adult—mostly pretty well-known ones. I also have a small pile of what is generally referred to as Chick-Lit and some high fantasy. The stack tends to grow, and I believe in the glory that is the Pre-Order. So 503 is not a concrete number, because I guarantee there will be times books come in faster than I can read them.
I would say that I prefer Young Adult to most genres, especially Young Adult Paranormal. Recently I’ve taken a liking to all things space and alien-related. You can thank “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card for that. But it was perpetuated by “Alienated” by Melissa Landers and “These Broken Stars” by Aimee Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. All of which I highly recommend.
Outside of books, I work full-time and am happily married. I also enjoy cooking, sewing, television. I watch pretty much everything—my tastes in TV are about as varied as my reading material, that is too say, extremely varied.
Thanks for joining me through this process, and I hope you enjoy my reviews. Especially since this post will be read by an estimate of three people. J Thank you three people.
